I thought I would write you some of my new favorite recipes so we can talk food when I see you this weekend in Savannah—I am doing my happy dance in excited anticipation!
Dave and I have been doing well and sticking to big cooking on the weekends so that we have food for the week. It’s so much easier to eat well when already prepared food is just sitting in the fridge, easy to grab and reheat. Most of the recipes below are ones that we use regularly and typically double.
Blogs we’ve been cooking from a lot lately:
A great blog by Sarah Britton– a holistic nutritionist, based in Copenhagen . Her blog boasts gorgeous photos, interesting ideas for food combos and great little videos as well–been loving it lately.
I’ve been cooking from this lovely blog for the last year. This husband and wife duo from Austin, TX have some great, mostly-vegetarian recipes that really highlight veggies. I love that they take amazing food photos on French white marble as well. The combos of roasted veggies, grains and sauces are great for doubling and having for the week.
And a few random favorites:
Chicken Marsala from Williams and Sonoma
Roasted Chickpeas from Mark Bittman
Wild Rice Soup with Kabocha Squash, Kale and Coconut Milk from Whole Grains for a New Generation
Warm Cauliflower and Herbed Barley Salad from Bon Appetit
